e-MPS ('electronic Multi Print System') is a multi-tiered Solution that provides advanced print management, directly from the desktop. For Windows® users, e-MPS functions can be accessed from the “Job” Tab on the KX Driver. In Macintosh environments, e-MPS storage can be selected from the “Job Settings” selection of the PPD.

e-MPS provides the following functions:
In addition, some MFDs equipped with the MultiPurpose HDD offer these additional features:
For added versatility, administrators can manage e-MPS functions with KM-NET Viewer or Printer Disk Manager. e-MPS supports all of the finishing and page handling attributes and capabilities of the Kyocera Printer or MFD they are delivered to, so productivity is never compromised.
Temporary
Temporary Storage is for “time-sensitive” documents that have a finite life. These documents are delivered to the Printer HDD, and can be deleted manually, or as the partition on the HDD becomes full. The KX Driver has a unique feature to allow users to create a custom job name, so documents are easy to find. There is no password security with Temporary Storage.
Permanent
Permanent Storage has the same attributes as temporary Storage, but all jobs must be manually deleted by an administrator when they are obsolete. This is especially valuable for documents such as Company Phone Directories, Human Resource Handbooks, Technical Manuals. Like Temporary Storage, no password is available.
Virtual MailBox (VMB)
The Virtual MailBox (VMB) feature of e-MPS gives users the ability to ‘print’ documents throughout the day without having to retrieve them at a moment’s notice. With Virtual MailBox, users can get all of their documents when they are ready for them, without the inconvenience of a missing page or document because another user took them by mistake. Up to 255 VMBs can be configured, and each can be secured locally with a user pin.
Quick Copy
Sometimes, the total number of sets required for a meeting or conference is not revealed until minutes before. Rarely does anyone have exactly the number of sets they actually need, so they either copy additional sets hurriedly if there is a shortage, or throw out any extras if they’ve printed too many. Quick Copy is the solution to this everyday problem. Documents can be delivered to the HDD using the Quick Copy command for output later in the workday. When it’s time to output your sets, the exact number required can be input in the TSI of the MFD, or using the hard keys on the Printer. In no time at all, the number of sets requested are printed, eliminating waste and maintaining office productivity.
Proof and Hold
Desktop Publishing has become a critical workplace activity as technology has grown. Users who deliver “brand-critical” messaging or documents will often place a higher critical standard on the ‘look’ of what they are distributing. In a case such as this, Proof and Hold is an e-MPS feature that these users may find invaluable. With Proof and Hold selected in the driver, a single set of a printed document will be output, complete with finishing and page handling if selected. Users can then ‘hard proof’ the set for errors or inconsistencies. If the pages pass inspection during the final proof, the number of documents required can be entered and printed. Proof and Hold eliminates the added time and inconvenience of spooling and ripping files over and over, saving valuable time in the workday.
Private Print
In today’s security conscious world, maintaining confidentiality and privacy is important to most businesses. Compliance statutes, such as in the Healthcare and Insurance industries are also a concern. The Private Print feature of Kyocera’s e-MPS solution provides security for all printed documents, and raises the bar on confidentiality. From the driver, users can secure individual documents with a four digit password that only they know. From the device, the password is entered and the document is printed at the point of need, with only the intended party privy to the information on the printed page. Once printed, the document is no longer available.
Job Storage
Job Storage offers similar functionality to Private Print, but the document can be re-printed over and over. A four digit password can be set for access. Once stored, the document must be manually deleted.
Additional functions:
The following features are only available on MFDs with the standard Multifunctional HDD:
Synergy Print Box (SPB)
Synergy Print Box is a component of the on-board Document Management Feature on Kyocera MFDs. Documents can be delivered to an existing box on the MultiPurpose HDD for inclusion with other documents, or as part of a larger set. The benefit of Synergy Print Box allows users to incorporate smaller documents from vastly different applications, or even hard copy data, and create a collaborative piece.
Forms Gallery
Kyocera’s Forms Gallery works in conjunction with the Forms Overlay copy feature of the MFD. A static form or watermark can be delivered to the HDD, and scanned data can be merged with this image for a consistent look.
e-MPS Requirements:
All Kyocera Printers and MFDs available with the optional Printer Hard Disk Drive or e-MPS Hard Disk Drive can be configured for e-MPS functionality.
Some Kyocera models may utilize an optional MicroDrive, which will enable the e-MPS functions.
Setting a Kyocera Device with RAM Disk Mode enables partial features of e-MPS.
e-MPS is supported in Microsoft Windows® and has limited functionality in Apple Macintosh environments.
